"
As the largest Registered Training Organisation within the Emergency Services Sector in South Australian, managing the
training and assessment for a workforce of 15,500 members, the Training Administration System, (TAS) has been pivotal in us meeting all
organisational and administrative requirements and as a result of some 11 years of customisation, now provides the platform for
all data driven decision making within the training department. In the last 18 months, as a result of an Australia wide tender call TAS,
now re-badged as ESOTAS, has been extended to cover the entire Emergency Services Sector, providing the training solutions to the State
Emergency Service and the Metropolitan Fire Service, both Registered Training Organisations in their own right. The ability of ESOTAS to meet
the unique requirements of the three agencies has provided significant savings across the sector, with increased efficiencies achieved through
the collaborative sharing of data and database development.

"
The MFS needed a system that could manage as much information as possible about each individual person employed by the organisation. The MFS has a training framework which outlines a fire fighters career pathway through the rank structure, and there was a need to manage approximately 500 students enrolled in almost 4,000 units of competency per year. As well as compulsory training and assessment requirements, the MFS also needed a system to track specialist role requirements and align these to specific workplace skill sets. Some of these involve licensing requirements and ESOTAS has now given us the opportunity to track expiry dates of not only licenses but the skill set reaccreditation requirements. All MFS personnel now have access to their own training records, and Station Officers have the ability to now develop a station training plan by using ESOTAS. The system also provides us with the potential to track professional development for all of our trainers and assessors which is a compliance requirement of the AQTF. The reporting section of ESOTAS has now enabled us to quickly view monthly performance indicators which directly relate to our reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. The use of ESOTAS has assisted us in streamlining our administrative and reporting processes and has increased our capacity to manage of all records required to maintain an effective business as a Registered Training Organisation.

"
“I needed a system with which I could track the mapping of job role to competency, align competencies to qualifications and then map those competencies back to the workplace skill set. I then design the training materials to these identified workplace skill sets along with assessment tools, all within a training program designed around diverse job role requirements, but underpinned by the units of competency”

"The move from a complicated Excel spreadsheet to
manta-tas has made our training administration much easier. We are now able to manage
people's training needs, control the training budget and keep all the information about completed courses in one database. The suite of reports allows us
to provide training details to managers and supervisors which is particularly helpful at performance review time.
